If your computer won't let you simply click the icon to have it become your AIM buddy icon, follow these instructions below....

Short Cut Directions

1. Open up your AOL instant messenger. Look at the very bottom of the aol instant messenger program and find the picture that looks like a wrench and is titled "prefs". Click it.

   

2. Once you are in "prefs", look at the left tool bar in the window and find "Buddy Icons". Click it.

   

3. When the buddy icons page shows up, Make Sure that "My Buddy Icon" is selected. then, click the "browse PC" button and search in the folders to find where you saved your icon that you just made. when you find it, select it and click "ok".

   

Long Way Directions

1. First, find the icon that you want to use. Right click it and when the menu box comes up, click "Save Picture As.."

2. Save the icon in a folder that you will remember so you can get it later.

3. Next, sign on you AIM screen name.

4. In the menu bar at the top, find the selection that says "My Aim"

5. Click it, and scroll down in the selections until you see "Edit Options"

6. Hover you mouse over "Edit Options", and another menu will pop out from the side. Find the selection called "edit preferences" and click it.

7. When this menu comes up, look to the menu on the left hand side and look for the title "Buddy Icons"

8. Click "Buddy Icons" and the buddy icons section will appear to the right. There is a list that has all of your buddies on it, and at the top it says "my buddy icon".

9. Make sure u click "my buddy icon", and then click the button underneath the list of buddies called "Browse PC.."

10. When you click this button, your directories will pop up. Find the folder where you saved your icon, click the icon, and hit "select".

11. Now it will take you back to the buddy icons menu, and just hit the button at the bottom of the menu "Ok"

12. And your all set with your new doll buddy icon! I'm sure most of you already knew how to do this, but there are always a few that are a little confused... =)
