Heres just some info on this site. I made it on November 19th, 2002. I was home sick that day and missed making webpages, so i was like whatever i'll just have some fun and make a site with pictures made by me! But however just ordinary pictures weren't enough, I wanted to make a cool site that was original and that people would really enjoy comming to. Theres where I got the Doll Buddy Icon idea!

I would always make my AIM icons, and they were always doll ones. All my friends really liked them a lot, and I would make a new one every so often. I realized that other people could really like them too and want to use them for their own icon! SO theres where i got the idea.

I began by making a layout and set up for everything on angelfire.com. I used my knowledge of HTML that i had from making personal websites since 7th grade (expage.com/hethersparkels and other sites that are long gone). After i finally had a layout, I had to get make a lot more icons. Heres how I make them.. I frequently go on this chat thing called The Palace, and in it there are different rooms and you can wear different dolls or avatars. It's almost like a virtual thing. So I find really cool avatars on it and copy it to paint, so i can edit a background and make it the right size for an icon! So i dont actually make the girls and boy doll pictures myself, put i make all the backgrounds and make them into icons. It takes a long time to make a good icon, i dont just throw a crappy one together in like 2 minutes, i like to take my time so they can be the best for you guys!

From November 2002 to spring of 2003, my site wasn't that big. It was just a simple, small, personal website with probably less than 100 icons on it. My site first started to develop during the summer of 2003 when James and Zach (thanks so much!) let me use some space on mezel.net. I finally bought my own computer, so now I could update whenever I wanted to. Over time, my site started to grow really big, and lots of people started comming back to Doll Buddie Icons. In September 2003, I started having helpers (Stephanie, Julie, Nicole, Zeljka, April, Brittany, and Kayla) help me make icons. After that, it was just like a big boom! Things were great, and people really started to really enjoy my site and leave behind all negative comments. In winter 2004, my friend Kyle from dollspot.com, dollchick.com, and various other sites helped me convert my site to php, so people could upload their own icons! (Thanks a bunch, Kyle!!) Thanks to my visitors, helpers, and friends, my site is still constantly growing strong and hopefully will be around for a very long time.

Over all thats pretty much it about my site for now! I hope to have tons of icons for everyone some day and hope to keep this site up for a long time..! I just appreciate it if people dont steal these icons and put them on their site and take credit for them..that makes me mad! And dont go and copy my ideas. That's all I ask! Thanks for reading. :)
